Fairchild FC-2W2, Tour Ship #12, is the first airplane owned by both NASA adn the National Park Service!

This 1928 FC-2W2 was the first airplane NASAs purchased back with it was known as NACA. The ship was subsequently transferred to the National Park Service and became the first airplrne the U.S. National Park Service owned. While with the Park Service is was stationed in Manteo, N.C. about 5 miles from Kitty Hawk. It was flown on the Outer Banks by Dave Driskill a famous Outer Banks aviator who later became America
